Didn't the time change a few weeks back? Does "spring forward" sound familiar? The times on this board have not changed. Should that be an automatic thing by Yuku??? Or is that something you have to do, WM?

Wide To Infinity Forums Going Out of Business

Yes, it's a sad fact. Due to the sluggish economy, rising cost of gasoline, and the collapse of the real estate market, we have decided to close down the Wide to Infinity Forums. We want to do our part to stimulate the economy, so we're taking our $600 government rebate check and relocating to Outer Mongolia, where one can live quite comfortably on $600 a year. Unfortunately, they don't have an internet connection in all of Mongolia, so this is it.

Funny how change changes things.

I was really upset about this move to Yuku. I hadn't anticipated such a shockingly different experience it was going to be. And I'm NOT being overly dramatic, damn it.!!!!!!

At least it wasn't as traumatic as the big ezboard screw-up of '04. Dozens and dozens and dozens of posts lost into cyberspace....

I've been getting these notices from ezboard for over a year now about how all of the ezboards will eventually be migrated to their new 'server' Yuku. It's been on a volunteer basis for over a year, and I've resisted it all the way....for no apparent reason.

But this week I received an e-mail from them saying that this forum board will be migrated...

This is something I've known about and yet have resisted for well over a year. Basically, Ezboard has another service that they call Yuku that they are now using to host all of their message boards. The migration period has been going on for over a year, and has been on a voluntary basis. I have not wanted to 'migrate' these forums for the simple reason that something could get lost in the transfer.

As many of you know (all three of you), we decided not to renew our Gold member status this year. Mainly due to the lack of people participating, and also do to the fact that they still keep the board at the Gold status anyway without paying $60 bucks a year to keep it ad-free. Now, instead of incredibly annoying pop-up ads, we now only have to deal with semi-annoying in-column ads (they show up on the right side of the posted messages, as if you hadn't noticed by now).

Not to whine but figured I'd fill ya in on my absence the last week.....

Last weekend, my Son gave me that really nasty cold that's going around......would have preferred something else for Fathers Day. Felt like Hell for a couple days and then the cold started to recede.....only to be replaced by a really nasty sinus infection.......

I just wonder who all these people are that come here when there's nothing to see. Who are you lurkers, anyway?! Come out of hiding and announce yourselves, dammit!

Hello everyone -

I just wanted to post a brief message that the ezboard dues are almost due for another year. I moved the Community Chest box up to the top of the main page for the next couple of weeks for those who'd like to pitch in to keep the place Gold (which means keeping the place pop-up ad-free).

We haven't had any renewal dues for nearly a year and a half. For the record, the cost of keeping this forum ad-free is roughly $5 a month. I paid the dues back in January of...
